Rita Holscher

Rita Marie Holscher, 91, of Vincennes, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at her residence.She was born July 11, 1928 in Vincennes, Indiana to Joseph and Anna (Recker) Halter.Rita was a homemaker and bookkeeper. A member of the St. Francis Xavier Church, she received the Brut Award for 21 years of preparing bereavement meals. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, cooking, the outdoors, and her dogs and cats.Surviving are her husband Paul C. Holscher whom she married on April 16, 1952; her children, Wayne Holscher and his wife Tammie, Deborah Hagan and her husband Glenn, Brenda Horrall and her husband Doug, Pat Holscher and his wife Lori, Paula Hill and her husband Steve, Doug Holscher and his wife Amy, and Gary Holscher; her grandchildren, Nicholas Holscher, Jeanmarie Hoke, Amanda Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Jacob Horrall, Dannette Farrell Culver, Casey Farrell Holscher, Sonya Holloway, Adam Holscher, Alicia Hill, Lanea Holscher, Jaxson Holscher, Kaiden Holscher, Garrett Holscher, and Natalee Holscher; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; along with an adopted son, Dietrich Lane.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Duane Holscher; and her brothers and sisters, Henry Halter, Edmond Halter, Cecelia Yochum, George Halter, Clarence Halter, Anna Marie Hess, Mary Holscher, and Joseph Halter.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. John's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3-7 pm Friday at the church. Burial will follow in the St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the GSH Hospice.
