Rita Kay (Owens) Miley peacefully left this world on November 18 at GentleCare in Vincennes. She was born in Vincennes on August 14, 1946 to Roy and Rhoda (Taylor) Owens. She married Claude Miley, Jr. on October 26, 1966. Rita graduated from Monroe City High School in 1964 and went on to earn diplomas from Vincennes University and Liberty University. She was a member of Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church where she served in the United Methodist Women's group. Through the years she enjoyed traveling back and forth from Indiana to Texas- considering both states her home. After retiring to Indiana permanently, she enjoyed leading Bible studies and was a prayer warrior for her many friends in long term care. Those left to mourn her loss include her daughters, Tammi (Cavin) Ramsey and Trina Cullom; her brother, Roy (Chetta) Owens; her grandchildren, Matt Ramsey, Travis (Kayla) Richards, Levi (Melody) Ramsey, Kayla (Thomas) Estabrook, Jessica (Corbin) Doades, Nikki (Shaun Volle) Cockerham, Jordan Ramsey, Brittany (Tim) Buss, Megan (Shannon) Scott, Katie (Tyler Bingham) Cullom, and Nora Cullom; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and 1 on the way. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, a brother, Robert "Frank" Owens, and a daughter, Terri Miley Richards. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mrs. Miley. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10am at Anderson Chapel Cemetery in Petersburg, IN.
