Robert "Bob" Boyer

Robert "Bob" Boyer, 90, of Vincennes, IN, passed away January 15, 2020, at GentleCare Nursing Home.Bob had retired as an assistant chief after 23 years on the Vincennes Fire Dept. He enjoyed woodworking, family carpentry, and helping his son, Mike, build houses.A veteran of the US Marine Corps, he served during the Korean War. His memberships included the American Legion and the Bruceville Rod and Gun Club.Surviving is his wife, Norma (McClellan) Boyer; his children, Karen VanKirk, of Vincennes, IN and Michael Boyer and his wife, Barbara, of Vincennes, IN; his granddaughters, Rachel Garrett and her husband, Greg, of Morganfield, KY, and Sarah Carie and her husband, Matt, of Vincennes, IN; and his great-grandchildren, Makayla Carie, Maggie Carie, Wade Carie, Landon Henry, and Madison Garrett.Born August 8, 1929, in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Robert and Anna Clara (Brown) Boyer. His parents; a son, Robert E. Boyer, Jr.; a son-in-law, Ervin VanKirk; and a sister, Helen McNeece, preceded him.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, at Goodwin Funeral Home.
