Robert Cooper

Robert Glenn Cooper Jr., 62, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 13, 1956, in Vincennes. He married his wife, Melissa, on November 26, 1982.Robert was a computer engineer in the security field, and previously worked on the design and control systems of fighter jets for McDonnell Douglas and the U.S. Air Force. He also assisted on projects at his family's business, Vincennes Welding Company. In his spare time, Robert designed and repaired computer systems and was an amateur radio operator. He attended Christ Community Church in Vincennes. Robert was known for his interminable devotion to his family, compassion and kindness towards others, humility, and fierce sense of humor.Surviving are his wife, Melissa; sons, Rob and Jeremy; brothers, Bruce and Brian; and granddaughter, Hadley. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margaret "Peggy" and Robert Sr.; and his brother, David.Viewing is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2018 at Goodwin Family Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street. His funeral is scheduled to commence at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 at Goodwin. Donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice in lieu of flowers.
