Robert Durham

Robert E. Durham passed away from this life on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the age of 91 in Bicknell, Indiana with his family by his side. He was born on June 11, 1930, in Vincennes, Indiana. Those left to cherish his memories include the love of his life and best friend Marilyn Kay Dyhouse Durham; stepchildren Rosemarie Woolard and husband Jim; Trecca Neighbors and husband Sherman; Paul Wilkes and wife Angela; one sister, Donna Sue Collison; Marilyn and Robert's grandchildren Jeremy Woolard, Heather Woolard, Vicki Jo Arthur, Marion Neal Arthur, Leah Neighbors, Reed "Boogie" Neighbors, Matthew Wilkes, Jessica Wilkes, Kaleigh Wilkes, and Michelle Wilkes; Robert and Marilyn's grandchildren Nick Durham, Sean Durham, Ian Durham, Brandy Durham; also great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Duel Charles Durham and Mary Jane Greentree Durham; two sons, Robert Lee Durham and Gary Ray Durham; two brothers, Charles "Jake" Durham and Jack Durham; one sister, Norma Stanford; and one grandson Steven Durham. Robert E. Durham was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a gold card member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, American Legion, the Military Order of the Cootie, and the Harmony Club all of Vincennes. He joined the United States Army during the Korean War. He was married to the love of his life Marilyn Dyhouse on November 27, 1976. They have been married for over 45 years. He loved his family very much. Fishing, watching westerns, and staying at home was what he loved to do. He recently traveled with Marilyn his wife to California on a trip that was "one of best ever memories." He will be deeply missed by all. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lincoln Pride of The Green in honor of Robert Durham. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
