Robert Schlomer

Robert J. "Mercy" Schlomer, Sr., passed away July 11, 2014, at his home. He had worked as a truck driver for TLT and RA Harrell. Mercy was an Army veteran, and a member of the 40et8. Born September 1, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN, he was raised by his grandparents, John and Edna (Stader) Schlomer. They preceded him, as well as his wife, Carlotta (Riker) Schlomer; daughter, Kayrl Baca; his sons, Tracy and Robert , Jr.; one sister, and a grandson, Randy Malott. Surviving are his children, Carla (Richard) Burnett of Wheatland, IN, Evelyn Schlomer of Vincennes, Stacy (Hector) Alvarez of Indianapolis, IN, and David (Sue) Schlomer of Vincennes; twenty-one grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 3:00 PM, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00 at the funeral home.
