Robert Dwight Yates, 98 of Vincennes passed away November 28, 2015 at Petersburg, Indiana at the Golden Living Center. He was born October 11, 1917 in Vincennes to the late Ercel Royce Yates & Edith May (Long) Yates. He has lived most of his life in Vincennes & some in Arizona.His working career spanned 64 years with the majority of that time owning his own business, Wabash Welding Co..During WW II, he served our country in the Navy.Robert was past commander of the Vincennes VFW & a member of the Free Masons.Surviving are daughters Linda Holloway of Fort Collins, Colorado, Pat Risch & her husband Bob of Owensboro, Ky., Jan Nyman of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; one son Robert Yates of Seminole, Florida; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Also his sister, Mrs. Betty Brown of Williamsport, Indiana plus several nieces & nephews.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one great grandson & 2 nephews.Visitation @ Goodwin Funeral Home in Vincennes, Indiana will be Tuesday, December 1 from11-1. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with the VFW officiating.
