Roger Doades

Roger D. Doades, 70, of Vincennes, IN, passed away June 14, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born June 25, 1950 in Decker, IN to Corbin and Gladys Mae (Merrill).A graduate of South Knox High School, he was a graduate of Vincennes University, with degrees in business and chemistry. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Roger was retired form Schott Gemtron, where he was a glass worker. A member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, he enjoyed travel, fishing, and gardening.Surviving is his wife, Esther Bernice Doades; his children, Christy Doades of Vincennes, IN, and Bobbi Sanders and her husband, Ray, of Benton, KY; a son-in-law, David W. Devin of Vine Grove, KY; his brothers and sisters, Vickie Wathen of Wheatland, IN, Nellie Jane Goodrich of Vincennes, IN, Leon Doades of Vincennes, IN, Barbara Frederick of Decker, IN, Emily Goodrich of Washington, IN, Danny Doades of Odon, IN, Karol Doades of Vincennes, IN, and Kenneth Doades of Vincennes, IN; his grandchildren, David C. Devin, Michael Devin, Dustin Sanders, and Dakota Sanders; and 3 great-grandchildren.Preceding him were his parents; daughter, Bree Janine Devin; his grandson, Nathan W. Devin; his sisters, Mary Caughran, Shirley George, and Lavon Boyd; and an infant brother, Larry David Doades.Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 - 8:00 on Thursday, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. The funeral service will be held on Friday, at 10:00, at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
