Roger Nowling

Roger R. "Ro Ho" Nowling, 66, passed away at 4:50 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Roger was born on October 12, 1951 in Daviess County the son of Eddy Ray and Doris (Taylor) Nowling. He married Peggy L. Beasley on December 31, 2005 and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2018.Roger was a 1970 graduate of North Daviess High School and attended Plainville Christian Church as a child. He was a member of the Elnora American Legion Post 245, enjoyed riding his Harley and camping at the river, and loved their dog Diamond.Survivors include his mother, Doris Kane of Washington; daughter, JoRae Mathis of Washington; twin-sister, Rita Dyer and her husband Timothy of Washington; brother, Dr. Douglas Kane and his wife Christy of New Albany; step-sister, Connie Carroll and her husband David of Plainville; and four grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his father Eddy Nowling and his wife Peggy Nowling.Friends may visit with Roger's family on Wednesday from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 and on Thursday from 10 am until 11:00 am at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Roger's funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Billy Wagler officiating. Interment will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens where military honors will be conducted. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Travis Burkhart Foundation. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to assist the Nowling family with arrangements.
