Roger Sams

Roger Sams, 76, of Vincennes, IN went to be with the Lord February 22, 2024. He was born in Bowling Green, KY on March 22, 1947, to the late George and Bertha (Key) Sams. He attended Alvaton High School and was a member of the 1966 graduating class. Roger married the love of his life Virginia Wilson on October 15, 1966. He worked as a truck driver with Hancock and Bestway Trucking for 25 years each.

In Roger's early years he enjoyed working as a maintenance man for Warren County School Corporation. He also would deliver food to the cafeteria for the school. In his free time, he enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and drawing animals. Roger will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Bertha Sams and son in law Allen Wagoner.

Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Sams; daughters Cindy (Andy) Watjen and Marcia (Charley) Flick; grandchildren Scott (Heather) Flick, CJ Flick, Nathaniel (Mary) Kincaid, Rachel (Kenny) Lantz, Amber (Robert) Cummings, Kevin Flick, Ashley (Jason Evans) Kincaid, Nick Watjen, Austin Wagoner, Abigail Wagoner; great-grandchildren Felix, Aaron, Emily, Easton, Mazikeen, Lincoln, Maverick; brother Wendell (Nancy) Sams; and numerous friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Sams. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 524 Broadway St. from 4-8pm and Wednesday February 28, 2024, from 10 am to service time. The funeral service will begin promptly at 11 am with burial at Memorial Park following immediately.
