Rollin Dean

Rollin Dean went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at The Villages at Oakridge in Washington, Indiana at the age of 97. He was born on Sunday, September 26, 1923 to the union of Henry & Sally Belle Syra Dean in Edmonton, Kentucky. Those left to cherish his memories include the love of his life and wife Helen J. Powell Dean, son Ronald Dean wife Gwen, daughter Betty Dean, daughter Marilyn Jo Banks, 2 grandchildren Christy Rogers, Michelle Hatcher, 3 great-grandchildren Brittni Knox, Tyler Knox, Brandon Williamson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Dean, mother Sally Belle Syra Dean, and many siblings. Rollin Dean graduated from Loogootee High School and went on to join the United States Army during WWII and came out of the Army as a Master Sargent. He loved to serve his country. Rollin was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Washington. Rollin was a hard- working man and took care of his family. God and Family was the most important thing in his life. He loved the outdoors and being in the yard working. He will be deeply missed by all! Funeral services celebrating the life of Rollin Dean will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State Street Washington, Indiana. Officiating will be Pastor Gerald Turner. Interment will follow in the Sugarland Memory Garden in Washington, Indiana, under the direction of Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home Washington, Indiana. Visitation for friends will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
