Ronald Cates

Ronald Keith "Big Foot" Cates, 69, of Washington, passed away at 8:24 am Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his residence.He was born July 14, 1951 in Washington, Indiana to William and Thelma (Evans) Cates.Keith retired from Essex Wire after 22 years where he had served as President of the Local A.I.W. Union and had also worked for RC Cola and Spore Towing and Wrecker Service.Some of Keith's favorite things to do were fishing, hunting, and camping. An avid IU basketball fan, Keith also enjoyed watching football and baseball.Surviving are his wife Barbara (Fields) Cates whom he married on December 22, 1978; his son Robert "Bo" Cates of Elnora; his sister Carolyn Lynch of Carlyle, Illinois; and his grandchildren Aulbrey Cates, Alexandra Cates, Addison Cates, and Peyton Cates.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Roger Cates; his sister and her husband Marlene and Bill Kimmell; his brother in-law Michael Lynch; and a nephew Steven Lynch.Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday, October 30, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State Street, Washington. Following the visitation graveside services will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Monroe City, Indiana. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ronald Keith Cates.
