Ronald Goyer

Ronald William Goyer, 80, of Vincennes passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 3:48 pm at Bridgepoint Health Campus. Ronald also known as "Ron" and "Ronnie" was born on September 28, 1941, in Freelandville, IN and was the son of Russell and Virginia (Arthur) Goyer. He was a 1960 Bicknell High School graduate and looked forward to the reunion gathering each year. He spent most of his early years as a full-time barber and continued cutting hair for some friends and family for a total of approximately 50 years. He retired from Sigeco/Hoosier Gas after 20 years. Ron was a proud member of the Vincennes Gun Club, Vincennes Masonic Lodge, and the Hadi Shrine Temple where he helped drive children to the Shriner Hospital for several years. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church then later became an active member of the First Church of God in Vincennes, IN. Ronald never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone. He cherished his family and loved family get togethers, especially playing with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, mowing, shooting, tinkering in the garage, and attending any events that his children/grandchildren were involved in. He could often be seen proudly wearing his St. Louis Cardinal or John Deere attire. Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years Margaret Ann (Cutshall) Goyer of Vincennes, IN. He has two daughters; Diane Marczak and husband Dan of Vincennes, Cathy Lindsey and husband Keith of Vincennes. The grandchildren who adored him include; Matthew Lindsey and wife Jessica of Vincennes, Benjamin "Ben" Lindsey and wife Meredith of Vincennes, Lindsey Mehringer and husband Kyle of Hattiesburg, MS, Megan Griswold and husband Jarrett of Layfayette, IN, and Morgan Marczak of Vincennes, IN; Great-Grandchildren include Lexie Lindsey of Vincennes, IN and Myah Griswold of Layfayette, IN. He is also survived by his sister Debbie Albertson and husband Scott of Plainville, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Virginia Goyer and sister Beverly Goyer. Friends may visit with Ron's family from 5-8 pm on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Funeral services will be Friday, April 22, 2022, at 11:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. John Cutshall officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
