Ronald Purdue

Ronald "Ron" E. Purdue, 79, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at New Willow Manor. Born December 11, 1931, in Stendal, IN, he was the son of Delta (Hilgeman) and Benjamin Harrison Purdue.Ron was a retired engineer having worked for Hamilton Glass/Gemtron Corp. He was a member of Kiwanis and the First Church of God, where he had been a very active member.Survivors include his children, Robert James Purdue of Bicknell, Judith Ann Williams and her husband, Dennis, of Harleysville, PA and Kathryn Jane Purdue of Indianapolis and two grandchildren, Andrew Michael Williams and Emily Ann Williams.Preceding Ron in death were his parents; wife, Jacky (Gilbert) Purdue, whom he married July 19, 1959 and she passed away August 10, 2009; and sister, Virginia Hunter.Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of God, 1408 E. St. Clair, with Pastor Georg Karl officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
