Rosalie Ann Goodwin, 84, ‘Rose Goodwin' of Vincennes, left this world and went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 20, 2022. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family and the community. Rose was born October 17, 1938 and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She shared 55 wonderful years together with her husband Buddy L Goodwin Sr., who preceded her in death on April 3, 2013. After their children were grown, they had many years of adventures vacationing in Las Vegas. She enjoyed her work as Vincennes Township Assessor and loved helping the people that elected her for 20 years. In an effort to help people, Rose was instrumental in starting United Community Social Ministries with Dr. Isaac Beckes, area churches and her and her husband's dear friend Jack Sievers. She loved cooking for everyone during the holidays, she especially loved Christmas and Thanksgiving. Years ago, back in the 1980's and at the request of a dear friend, she was asked to cook and manage Sunset Center where she loved cooking and playing cards with all of the seniors. Her husband drove semi for thirty-five years and as soon as he would get home he would go out to the ‘Center' because he knew that is where he would find her, and he would play cards with the seniors for hours. Before our family sat down to eat our holiday dinners, we would deliver meals to the residents of Sunset Court and other seniors in need. She passed down that heartfelt giving to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Kimberly K. Gott-Nicol (Rob) of Vincennes, Kathy Morris and husband David of Vincennes and, Buddy L. Goodwin Jr., of Vincennes; grandchildren Ashlee Morris, Tonya Dortch (Roger), Heather Goodwin, Jordan Goodwin and Quinton Goodwin; great granddaughters Brooklyn Rose Donaldson, Kaislee Paige Galanos and Kamaree Payton Galanos; cousin Glenda Emmett; sister Janice Boyles and one niece and nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents Ermel C. Holder and Freida (Pruitt) Holder and an infant son Michael David. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the family and friends that called, text and stopped by to visit with her. Friends and Family are invited to say their final goodbyes to Rose at the graveside service per Rose's wishes, at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery or by meeting the family at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home at 12:45 pm on Wednesday. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Rosalie Goodwin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vincennes Community Food Pantry, St. Vincent DePaul, or the Salvation Army.
