Rosalie Vollmer

Rosalie F. Vollmer, 87, passed away at 9:00 am on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Rosalie was born on December 4, 1931, the daughter of William W. and Hazel V. (Shearer) Prout. Rosalie married Robert H. Vollmer on June 13, 1954 and he preceded her in death on October 25, 2005.Rosalie had been a bookkeeper for James Moran and helped run her family's farm. She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church and enjoyed playing the piano and organ there. Rosalie also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and watching sports with Rusty.Survivors include her daughter, Beth Ann Chagas and her husband Urias of Brazil, South America her two grandchildren, Andrew Chagas and his wife Maressa, Julie Chagas and her husband Ricardo Kennerly; nieces, Sherri Thorne and her husband Rusty of Vincennes, Gina Starkey and her husband Mark of Metcalf, IL; nephew, Chris Fossmeyer and his wife Luanna of Brownsburg, IN, sister-in-law, Helen Rinehart and her husband Vic of New Whiteland, IN, cousin, Ray Greene and his wife Helen of Linton and several great nieces and nephews. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert H. Vollmer, her son, Robert Joe Vollmer, her sisters, Lois Spore, Betty Althoff, Patricia Fossmeyer and her niece Janis Spore Phillips.Friends may visit with Rosalie's family from 2:00 pm until the hour of her funeral service of 3:00 pm on, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Rusty Thorne will officiate and Rosalie will be laid to rest in Moffett Cemetery in Lawrence County, IL. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist Rosalie's family with arrangements.
