Rose Ann Batchelor-Gray, 85, passed away on June 17, 2020 at Jasper Memorial Hospital. Rose was born on October 17, 1934 in Pike County the daughter of Harley O. and Ruby L. (Sweet) Meadors. She married Frank Batchelor on October 16, 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2003 after forty-eight years of marriage. She then married Robert H. Gray on March 12, 2012 and he survives.After graduating from Otwell High School in 1952, Rose Ann worked at Cold Metal Products in Indianapolis. She moved to Washington when she and Frank were married in 1955. Rose Ann worked at Uniroyal and retired from Washington Nursing Center. She was an active member of First Christian Church in the Win-A-Couple Sunday school Class and the Dorcas Quilting Society, as well as heading up the kitchen detail for many church Thanksgiving dinners. Rose Ann and Frank's little house was open to family and friends and many of the nieces and nephews spent summer vacations with them. Rose Ann's interests included crocheting, quilting, babysitting grandkids and watching IU and Pacer basketball as well as her boys the Atlanta Braves.Survivors include her husband Robert H. Gray, two daughters and a son, Melody (Rick) Cockerham, Bradley (Julia) Batchelor, and Jane R. Batchelor all of Washington; grandchildren, Justin (Kristin) Bigler, Matthew (Sarah) Bigler, Megan (Manny) Tafolla, Scott (Val) Cockerham, Christopher (Sara) Cockerham, Cory (Erin) Batchelor, Ryan (Adara) Batchelor, Jakob Batchelor, Nathan (Katie) Busboom, Jordan (Annsley) Busboom and Jacob Busboom; great grandchildren, Sam and Frank Bigler, Eloise and Archie Bigler, Anthony, Caitlin and Nikolas Tafolla, Emalee and Kaleb Cockerham, Baylee, Waylon and Melody Mae Cockerham, Cali Batchelor, Aryah and Ryder Batchelor, Mollie Batchelor, Gavin Richardville and Kari, Zoe and Sylar Busboom; great-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Natalie Tafolla, as well as thirteen nieces and nephews. Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Frank E. Batchelor; five brothers, Horace (Sam) Weldon (Hood), Lyndell (Tom), Kermit and Ebert (Jeff) Meadors; two nephews, Ricky and Dennis Meadors and one niece, Sandra Sue Herndon.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Sugarland Memory Gardens with Bro.
