Rose Gillespie

Rose E. Gillespie, 78, of Vincennes, passed away at 2:18 am Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born November 26, 1939 in Vincennes to Icel and Juanita (Vantlin) Butler.Rose was the Meter Maid in Vincennes for several years and was a homemaker. A member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, and was known for her great cooking.Surviving are her children, Steven and Laura Gillespie of Evansville, and Roger Gillespie of Vincennes; a nephew whom she considered a son, Gary Gillespie of Vincennes; her sisters, Marlene Kay Martin of Vincennes, Judy Agee of Vincennes, and Connie Reitmeyer of Sarasota, FL; her grandchildren, Robert, Rachel, Wyatt, Gary, and Natalie Gillespie; and her great grandchildren, Matthew, Thatcher, and Isabella Gillespie.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary Gillespie, and an infant sister, Shirley Butler.A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
