Rose Vollmer

Early Monday morning, August 10, Rose Marie Vollmer, passed peacefully into the ages from the beloved home that she had shared for many years with her childhood sweet-heart, Bill. Together again, now for all time. May God bless them both. "Rosie" was born 88 years ago, on Christmas Day in 1926 to Ethelyn Evelyn (Richard) & Marvin A. Stodghill in Newport, Indiana. Growing up in Bicknell, Indiana, she graduated from Bicknell High School in 1944. She then worked as a secretary at the George Field Airport until her marriage to Leo William "Bill" Vollmer on June 30, 1946. They enjoyed many happy years together on the Vollmer family farm until Bill's death in 2005. Rose Marie's health began to rapidly decline over the past few months, and she spent most of July receiving excellent care in the Good Samaritan Rehabilitation unit. The truly compassionate care provided by Good Samaritan Hospital's Home Hospice nurses enabled Rose Marie to return home to spend her
