Rossye Jeffress

Rossye L. Jeffress, 72, beloved wife, mother, sister, granny and GG, 409 Maple Avenue, Oaktown, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:05 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Born October 1, 1938, in Duncan, OK, she was the daughter of William A. and Mary Josephine (Wagner) Davis. She was spiritually born again at the age of seven.Rossye retired in 1999 as a food service worker for the Campbell County School District in Gillette, WY. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing games, camping, traveling and boating. She was a twelve year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Her survivors include her husband, J. W. "Wink" Jeffress of Oaktown whom she married January 22, 1954; children, Gwen Music of Portsmouth, VA, John Jeffress of Denver, CO, Donna Ross of Evansville, IN, Brenda James and her husband, Keith, of Vincennes, and Ronda Stewart and her husband, Randy, of Caledonia, MI; brothers, Horace Davis, Howard Davis and Rick Davis; sisters, Janet Gilliam, Eva Maestas, Billie Jo Losing, Sylvia Ramsdell and Cathey DeMars; grandchildren, Windle Willoughby and his wife, Danica, Lana Metcalf and her husband, Richard, Jess Willoughby and his wife, Jamie, Memory Ross, U.S.A.F. Staff Sgt. Dustin Ross, DonLee James and his wife, Michelle, Kayla James, Matthew Stewart and his wife, Janna, and Katie Stewart; and great-grandchildren, James Willoughby and brother Gabe Chase, Ian Willoughby, Bechler Metcalf, Hudson Metcalf, Sage Slaght, Amber Slaght, Dahlia Rossye Willoughby, Abi Haynes, Javelin James, Parker James, and Eleanor Stewart.Preceding her in death were her parents.Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Brother Tim Tesmer officiating. Interment will follow in Oaktown Cemetery.
