Roy Byrer

Roy N. Byrer, 80, passed away at 9:15 am on August 1, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, IN. Roy was born on June 10, 1939 in Daviess County the son of Roy N. and Lucille (Kirkpatrick) Byrer. He married Mary Clements on February 23, 1963.Roy retired from NWSC Crane after several years as a public works employee. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Loogootee and the Knights of Columbus. Roy enjoyed mushroom hunting and could hardly wait until spring every year so he could go.Survivors include his wife, Mary Cel Byrer of Loogootee; son, Doug Byrer and his wife Elisa of Vincennes; daughters, Terri Smith and her husband Troy of Loogootee, Brenda Roush and her husband Shane of Shoals and his grandchildren, Bryan Byrer, Margaret Byrer and Trey Smith. Roy was preceded in death by his parents.There will be private graveside services held for Roy at St. Peters Cemetery in Montgomery with Father Kenneth Walker officiating.
