Roy Mccrary

Roy Eugene McCrary, 78, passed away at 2:20 pm on Saturday, September 7. 2013 at his residence. Roy was born on October 24, 1934 in Pike County the son of Claude and Caroline McCrary. He married Marietta Owens on November 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2013.Roy worked for Royal Crown Cola for twenty-three years. He did odd jobs in his spare time, hauling coal, rocks, dirt and mowed yards for family and friends. He then worked for Essex Wire for fourteen years retiring in 1999. Roy enjoyed playing cards with family, gardening, watching and feeding birds and squirrels, and any dog or cat that came in the yard. He attended Bethlehem General Baptist Church.Survivors include his son, Michael McCrary and his wife Beverly of Vincennes; son, Jim McCrary and his wife Jackie of Vincennes; son, Robert "Fuzz" McCrary and his wife Jackie of Vincennes; daughter, Glenda Marchino and her husband Tom of Vincennes; son, David McCrary and his very good friend, Sandy Rivera of Vincennes; brothers, Paul McCrary of Vincennes; Bill McCrary of Vincennes; Dale McCrary and his wife Ruthie of Vincennes; sisters, Donna Neighbors of Vincennes; Judy Steimel of Vincennes; Ann Schultz and her husband Karl of Vincennes, Sue Cook of Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years, and sisters, Bea Brannon and Helen Smith.Funeral services for Roy will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Stouse, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Roy's family on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm.
