Rual Clifton "Junior" Tweedy Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at his residence in Vincennes, Indiana at the age of 69 with his family by his side. Junior was born January 1, 1953, in Columbia, South Carolina. Those left to cherish his memories include the love of his life, best friend and wife of almost 48 years Diana (Junkin) Tweedy. His two sons Rual Clifton Tweedy III and his wife Tammy, Samuel Lee Tweedy and his wife Brook, four grandchildren Kelsey Tweedy-Paratore, Kamren Tweedy, Presley Tweedy, and Noah Tweedy. A half-sister Edwina Garner and one brother Terry Tweedy along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Jr is preceded in death by his parents Rual Clifton Tweedy Sr., Betty Ruth (Johnson) Tweedy, one sister Carolyn Tweedy Clayborn, and one brother Tracy Tweedy. Junior served his country with pride. He joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War period and subsequently served 10 years in the Indiana Army National Guard. He met the love of his life and married Diana (Junkin) Tweedy, and they had two sons. He was devoted husband and father. Junior was a taxicab driver for many years and had a passion for cooking for friends and family. IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts were his favorite sport teams. He was a collector of unique items and kick-knacks and loved going to yard sales and flea markets to see what treasures he could find. His church family was very important to him. He loved to serve the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel music. He was loved and will be deeply missed by all! Visitation for family and friends will be held at the New Life Holy Cathedral 101 N 5th Street Vincennes, Indiana on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Following visitation funeral services celebrating the life of Junior will be held at the New Life Holy Cathedral Church at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Anton Howard. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana. Online memories may be shared with Junior's family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com.
