Ruby Marie Lavely

Ruby Marie (McKinney) Lavely, 92, formerly of Vincennes, died peacefully surrounded by her children at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville, Indiana.She was born October 6, 1922 in Vincennes to Clarence Elmer and Grace Ledora (Dalton) McKinney.Ruby was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and also as a private duty nurse. She had also worked as a decorator with her husband and as a beautician. Ruby also volunteered at the Red Cross and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, flowers in which she was known in her neighborhood for her beautiful mums, sewing, and dancing, Surviving is her children, Linda (John) Almeras of Danville, Indiana and Bobby (Joy) Lavely of Rockford, Illinois; brothers, Jack (Carol) McKinney of Seffner, FL and Mack and(Betty) McKinney of London, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Patricia McKinney of Springhill, FL; her grandchildren, Janet (Mike) Bicanic, Kim (Bill) Fuesting, Sean (Kris) Lavely, Jon Almeras, Chris (Melanie) Almeras, Bobbi Joylee Lavely, Amadeo (Allie) Garcia, George (Janine) Garcia, Michael Garcia, Paul (Aida) Garcia, and Cynthia Bjoy Garcia; her great grandchildren, Michael Bicanic, David Bicanic, Jon Bicanic, Kimbra Fuesting, Joey Fuesting, Trace Stafford, Tristan Almeras, Reagan Almeras, Amadeo IV Garcia, and Vivianne Garcia; and a great great grandchild, Noah Michael coming in May of 2015. In addition to raising her own children, she raised five of her younger brothers. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Orville L. Lavely, whom she married October 29, 1938; five brothers, Melvin, Don, Bill, Bob, and John McKinney; and also an infant brother and sister.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday March 13, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30 Friday at the funeral home.
