Ruby Morrison

Ruby Beatrice Morrison, 97, passed away on June 18, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born on August 5, 1922 in Westphalia, Indiana to Eli and Ella (Nolting) Hagemeier. Ruby graduated from Edwardsport High School in 1940. She, along with her husband were in Club and Motel management for 35 years. Ruby taught Sunday school class and bible study for several years and she and her husband delighted in volunteering their services to the West Baden Hotel as it was being restored. She was proud to have served on the Board of Directors at West Baden Historical Society and was a member of the Indiana Historical Society.She was kind, always ready to help, and delighted in family. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 28:7, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song."Surviving Ruby are her son Jimmie Morrison and his wife Thelma of Vincennes, and her daughter Delores Jones and her husband Gary of Norman, IN; her grandchildren Michael Morrison, Heather Kirchoff and her husband Scott, and Matthew Jones and his wife Heather; her great grandchildren Josh Morrison and his wife Sarah, Jarek Morrison, Harrison Hislip, Audrey Hislip, and Willem Jones; her great great grandchildren, Zalea, Rogan, Lilah, and Ariah Morrison; and two step great grandsons Cole Kirchoff and Zach Kirchoff.Preceding Ruby in death were her parents; her husband Herbert Ray Morrison whom she married February 9, 1941; her sister Robertine Berryman; her granddaughter Alissa Jones, and her great grandchildren Silas Rigby Morrison and Jensen Morrison.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2020 at First Christian Church with Rev. Peter Haskins and Rev. Bill Pieper officiating. Burial will follow in the Westphalia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
