Ruby Wilkens

Ruby O. (Milner) Wilkens, 95, of Vincennes, passed away at 3:08 am Sunday, March 29, 2020 at BridgePointe Health Campus.She was born January 14, 1925 in Fairfield, Illinois to Joseph L. and Lula M. (Young) Milner. She married Walter Lowell Wilkens on November 27, 1945.,Ruby graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois. She left college to make parts for airplane wings for planes needed in World War II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olney, Illinois and owned Ruby Wilkens Trucking until 2011.Surviving are her children Wayne Wilkens and his wife Cindy of Vincennes, Wanda Shultz of Jasper, Winona Drewes of Springfield, Illinois, and Wanita Pagel and her husband Charles of Springville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Greg Shultz and his wife Melanie of Jasper, Stephanie Doherty and her husband Kelly of Germantown, TN, Brian Drewes and his wife Kim of Springfield, IL, Philip Drewes and his wife Mallory of Springfield, IL, Christopher Pagel of Bloomington, IN,Dennis Pagel of Springville, IN, Nicholas Pagel of Springville, IN, Kymberleigh Pagel of Baltimore, MD, David Wilkens of Vincennes, and Jason Epley and his wife Amy of Evansville; along with 10 great grandchildren.Preceding Ruby in death were her parents Joseph and Lula Milner; her husband Lowell Wilkens; a son Walter (Harley Bud) Wilkens Jr.; her sons-in-law Stephen Shultz and David Drewes; and a sister Hilma Tonn.Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at White Church Cemetery in Princeton.
