Russell Joe "Pap" Williams, 58, passed away at 12:47 pm on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Pap was born on July 22, 1956 in Vincennes the son of Charlotte Shaner. He married Billie Nading on September 13, 2002.Pap had worked at Essex Wire for thirty years and most recently as a Maintenance Electrician for Sun Rise Coal Company. He served his Country in The United States Army and was a member of Bruceville Road and Gun Club and Vincennes Gun Club. Pap loved spending time with his grandson, riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time and tinkering in his garage.Survivors include his wife, Billie Williams of Vincennes; mother, Charlotte Shaner of Vincennes; son's, Jonathan Peters of Vincennes, Daniel Kasinger of Vincennes; grandson, Zaeyden Peters; sister, Jo Ann Shaner of Evansville, IN; brothers, Kenny Shaner of Washington, IN, Gerald Shaner of Lakeland, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Pap was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alma and Ace Williams.Friends may visit with Pap's family from 2-7 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. There will be no funeral service and at Pap's request he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bile Duct Cancer Research Association.
