Ruth Elliott

Ruth A. Elliott, 93, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:05 am Monday, December 9, 2019 at BridgePointe Health Campus.She was born August 26, 1926 in Pike County to Ira and Bertha (Borders) Coleman.Ruth had worked at Hill's Department Store and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in which she was very active in. Ruth also enjoyed playing Bridge.Surviving are her children, Jay Elliott of Vincennes and Beth Toepfer and her husband Bruce of High Point, North Carolina; her sister Barbara Whitehouse of Patoka, Indiana; her grandchildren, Brittnay Hall and her husband Jason of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina and Aaron Toepfer of High Point, North Carolina; along with several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Bryan Elliott, whom she married on January 27, 1946 and preceded her on July 11, 1991; and a brother Sammie Lee Coleman.Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Swisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh cemetery in Hazelton. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time on Saturday.
