Ruth Garrett

Ruth M. Garrett, 105, of Owensville, IN went to be with the Lord October 30, 2021. She was born September 30, 1916 in Gibson County to the late Elmer and Nellie Morris. Ruth married the love of her life Roy Garrett and was a proud farmers wife. She was known for her excellent cooking. Ruth was a member of Owensville General Baptist Church for 51 and served as the President of Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She was a proud Easter Star for over 50 years and White Shrine. Ruth will be remembered as a kind and caring woman that never had a harsh word. She was crazy about her pecan trees and cooking with the nuts she collected. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and friends. Ruth will be missed by so many. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Garrett; and siblings Grace Knight, Robert Morris, and Claude Morris. Ruth is survived by her nephew Wayne (Anne) Tennis and several great nieces and nephews. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Garrett. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 11a-1p at the funeral home. Funeral will be held at 1p. with graveside to follow at Owensville Cemetery. Bob Douglas will be officiating.
