Ruth Sharpe

Ruth "Tubby" Sharpe, 83, 1402 Parkinson St., Vincennes, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born May 14, 1928, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Walter and Mattie Thomas.Ruth operated the gift shop at Crestview Nursing Home. She enjoyed scrapbooking and sending greeting cards to family and friends.Survivors include her husband, Robert "Ivan" Sharpe, of Vincennes; children, Vicki Mains and her husband, Greg, Steve Sharpe and his wife, Kay, and Martha Sinnett all of Vincennes; grandchildren, Amy Stewart and her husband, Tim, Sandy Braithwaite, Michael Beach, Lora Purcell and her husband, J.D., and Darren Mains and his wife, Elizabeth; six great-grandchildren and one on the way.Preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating.
