Ruth Evelyn (Norton) Warren, 85, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was born April 18, 1937, in Crawford County, Illinois, daughter of Horace and Ruth (Racop) Norton. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1954, and married Bobby Gene Warren, of Decker Chapel, Indiana, June 26, 1955. Ruth was an active member of Community United Methodist Church, where she participated in Mary Martha's and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the church. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years, as well as for Warren Homes, Incorporated. She loved to travel with her husband. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Sam Westfall of Madisonville, Kentucky, son and daughter-in-law Doug and Jill (Byerley) Warren of Jasper, granddaughters Erin (Byron) Lahr of Swayzee, Erika (Trevor) Shepard of Vincennes, and Keshia Westfall of Madisonville. She cherished her great-grandchildren, Klair and Warren Shepard and Avery Westfall. She is also survived by sisters Wilma McDaniel of Palestine, Illinois, and Carol Johnson of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and many nieces and nephews, with whom she very much enjoyed spending time. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Bobby G. Warren in 2010, parents Horace and Ruth Norton, sisters Helen Miller and Betty Wilson, and brother Noble Norton. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Community United Methodist Church, 1548 South Hart Street Road, Vincennes, with Tony Burkhart officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit and share memories of Ruth with the family from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service time. The family has requested memorial contributions be made payable to Community United Methodist Church Family and Friends Fund.
