Ruth Ziegler

Ruth Ziegler, 88, passed away on April 18, 2020 at BridgePointe Health Campus. Ruth was born on October 31, 1931 in Palmerton, PA, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Griffiths) Reese. She married Donald Ziegler on December 19, 1954.Ruth graduated from Allentown High School in Pennsylvania in 1949 and went on to obtain her bachelor's degree from Cedar Crest College in 1953 where she was a member of the basketball team. She was an active former member of First Baptist Church of Pottstown, PA. She taught several Sunday School classes, was a Cub Scout Den Mother for 10 years, and was the chair of the Board of Christian Education for several years. Most recently, she was an active member of her Sunday School class at the First Baptist Church of Vincennes.Survivors include her husband, Donald Ziegler of Vincennes; sons, Mark Ziegler and his wife Terry of St. Mary's, GA, John Ziegler and his wife Heidi of Hatfield, PA; granddaughter, Kristen Ziegler of St. Mary's, GA; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Reese of Whitehall, PA. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Reese, and her grandson, Derek.Private services will be held at a later date and Ruth will be entombed at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Pottstown, PA.
