Sharon Halter

Sharon Kay Halter, 69, of 5623 South Halter Road, Vincennes, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born January 28, 1946 in Vincennes, to Cletus and Pauline (Stafford) Claycomb.Sharon was a licensed beautician and after raising her children, she worked for Rivet and Clark Middle School in the cafeteria. A member of the St. John's Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Lower Johnson Township Homemakers Club and the Ladies Auxiliary Club at the Knights of Columbus.She lived for Sundays on the farm as her family would visit as she always cooked a large meal, and also enjoyed knitting and crafts. Surviving is her husband, Steven L. Halter, whom she married August 4, 1966; her children, Sandra Kay (Mike) Snider of Vincennes, Steven "Joe" Halter of Terre Haute, and Shawn (Cathy) Halter of Bloomington; her brothers and sisters, Ruth Wright of Greenfield, Joan McClellan of Muncie, and Larry Claycomb of Dallas; and her grandchildren, Decoda Halter, Drew Halter, Dalton, Taylor, and Chandler Nelson, and Alex Halter.Preceding Sharon in death were her parents, and her siblings, Imogene Waggoner and Keith "Bud" Claycomb.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. David Fleck officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home.
