Shirley Chamness

Shirley Jean Chamness, 54, of 501 Hart Apt. #407, passed away at 9:30 a.m. on January 28, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Shirley was born in Vincennes on January 21, 1959 the daughter of William Nelson and Mary Marie (Eaton) Chamness. Shirley attended the Church of God Prophecy Church; she enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, cross word puzzles and bingo. Shirley especially loved her dog Snuggles.Survivors include her mother, Mary Marie Chamness of Vincennes; son, Andy Burns of Vincennes; brother, William Chamness and his wife, Rebecca of Oaktown; sisters, Charlotte Williams of Vincennes; Mary Sue Betz and her husband William of Vincennes; Cindy Horvath of Vincennes; granddaughter, Elizabeth Burns, five nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Debbie Marie Chamness. Funeral services for Shirley will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main Street with Rev. Perry Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Shirley's family from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
