Shirley Moore

Shirley N. Moore, 96, of Oaktown, IN passed away March 9, 2023. She was born in Decatur, IL on May 23, 1926, to the late Clyde and Helen (Sargent) Henderson. Shirley married, the love of her life, John A. Moore on November 18, 1950. Together they owned and operated Moore's Donut Shop for 20+years, where Shirley would ice and fill the donuts as well as handle the accounting. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed crocheting blankets, shawls, baby sweater sets, and doilies as well as cooking, spending time with family and watching her hummingbirds. She will be deeply missed by all. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and husband John Moore. She is survived by her daughter Nadine (Joseph) Brown; grandchildren Julie (Roger) Miller and Todd (Regina) Brown; great-grandchildren Christa (Joseph) Mitchell, Bryce (Brianna) Petty, Carson Brown, Christian Brown; great-great-grandchildren Gavyn Mitchell, Brantlee Mitchell, Lynnlee Mitchell, Eleanor Mitchell, Canaan Petty, Elijah Petty; sister Naomi Maxey; and many nieces and nephews. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mrs. Moore. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 524 Broadway St. from 12-2pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday March 15, 2023, at 2pm with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery following.
