Sophia F. Bowens, 87, of Vincennes, passed away Dec. 10, 2016, at the BridgePointe Health Campus.Sophia was a member of the American Legion Auxillary and the VFW Auxillary. She enjoyed playing euchre and bingo.Born Jan. 16, 1929, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of William T. and Mabel (Nash) Baker. Her parents; a daughter, Virginia Byrd; sons, Mike Dent and Tony Byrd; and her brothers and sisters preceded her.Surviving are her children, Mark Byrd of Bruceville, IN, Tracy Byrd of Vincennes, IN, and Angela Godfrey of Merom, IN; eight grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.There will be no services.Online condolences may be sent to the family through goodwinfamilyfh.com.
