Stephen W. Fitzgerald

Stephen W. Fitzgerald, 69, passed away at his residence at 6:00 am on December 6, 2024. Steve was born on July 24, 1955 in Washington, IN the son of Burke H. and Roberta (Dayton) Fitzgerald. 

Steve worked at General Rental and later for the City of Washington in the Sanitation Department as well as the Electric Department. He was a member of the Washington Eagles Lodge #414. Most importantly though, Steve loved his family and his country and was very patriotic. 

Survivors include his brother, Joe Fitzgerald and his wife Deb of Washington, sister, Kathy Fitzgerald and her fiancee Mike Dobbyn of Washington; his special friend, Cheryl Burris Chattin of Washington; nieces, Kim Emmons and her husband Tim, Karen Hill and her fiancee Chad Myers, Sarah Fitzgerald; nephew Brian Fitzgerald and his wife Sara, as well as several great nieces and great nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Burke and Roberta Fitzgerald.

Friends may visit with Steve's family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Punke will officiate and Steve will be laid to rest in East Union Cemetery next to his father Burke.
