Stephen Hawkins

Stephen Edward Hawkins, 73, of Ragsdale, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was born on January 9, 1949 and was the son of Charles and Sybil "Mickey" Hawkins. Steve married the love of his life, Delia (Moore) Hawkins and shared 41 years together. After school, Steve enlisted into the United States Army where he was a Sergeant. Because he was so proud to serve our great county, he enlisted in the United States National Guard as well. Steve worked for the Knox County Highway Department for many years. He was a disabled American veteran, member of the 40 et 8 and the VFW. Steve enjoyed doing woodworking, collecting guns, and spending time with family. Steve is survived by his wife, Delia; children Steve Hawkins (Karen) of Roanoke, Il, Jamie Hawkins of Lawrenceville, Il, Beverly Huff (William) of Evansville, In, John Hawkins (Jessica) of Bicknell, In, Raymond Clark (Jenny) of Oaktown, In, and Beverly Keistiens (John) of Jasper, In; sister Janie Stephens; 18 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren . Steve is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mickey Hawkins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Goodwin - Sievers Funeral Home from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Steve will be laid to rest at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery immediately after the service.
