Stephen Lanning

Stephen W. Lanning, 66, passed away at 7:37 am on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Steve was born on April 26, 1948 in Vincennes the son of Richard and Betty (Shoultz) Lanning. He married Lois Johnson on June 28, 1974 and she survives.Steve was a 1966 graduate of Monroe City High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for Monroe City Feed Mill and Ceres Solutions and was a member of the VFW 1157 and Community United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching sports and played softball for several years.Survivors include his wife, Lois Lanning of Vincennes, sons, Brian Lanning and his wife Jessica of Vincennes, Jeffrey Lanning of Nashville, TN; sister Connie Turner and her husband Charles of Monroe City and two grandchildren, Caleb and Avery Lanning. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Betty Lanning.Funeral services for Steve will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Pastor Cheryl Garbe officiating.
