Susan Winkler peacefully passed away on April 9, 2025, just ten days after her 87th birthday. A woman of unwavering faith, she found strength and comfort in the Lord throughout her life. She passed this faith and legacy of love to her children, grandchildren and all who were part of her earthly journey. She will be missed, but we find comfort in knowing this next part of her heavenly journey is one of eternal joy and rest.

Susan spent most of her career as a legal secretary in Madisonville, KY, balancing the demands of work and motherhood with grace. Her compassion continued as she returned to Vincennes to care for her parents as they aged. Her service extended beyond family as she provided assistance and comfort to those in need at Fox Ridge assisted living facility, which she ultimately became a resident of years later and volunteered her time at the Lords Warehouse. Her life was a reflection of faith and service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lorena Risley Kelso, brother Jim Kelso and nephew David Kelso. She is survived by her daughter Kim McBurnie and husband Jeff of Holden, ME; her son Scott Winkler and wife Angela of Murray, KY; grandchildren include Megan McBurnie Nalewajk and husband Jim, Jason McBurnie and wife Alexandra, Ashley Winkler and husband Andrew Renison, Amy Winkler Teats and husband Chris, Eric Winkler and wife Jenson; great grandchildren Eli Teats, Annie Renison and Mila McBurnie.
