Tandala Smith

February 19, 1958 — April 26, 2024

On April 26, 2024, the world lost a cherished soul as Tandala R. (Tammy) Smith, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 66 in Vincennes, Indiana. She was a loving mother to five children, Brianna Ramsay, Nichole Smith, Jason Smith, Christopher Smith, and Brittany Ramsey, who will forever cherish her memory.


Born on February 19, 1958 in Salida, Colorado to Charles and Helen JoAnn (Armstrong) Wright, Tammy embraced life with a passion. Her vibrant personality and creative soul shone through her hobbies of crafting, coloring, painting, and music, bringing joy to those around her.


Despite her strong will and stubbornness, Tammy's loving nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.


She is survived by her children, Nichole Smith, Jason Smith, Christopher Smith, Brianna Ramsay, and Brittany Ramsay; siblings, Linda Ruppel (Tony), Mary Jo Banister (Mike), Zane Wright, Greg Roach (Dixie), Lea Ann Madison, and Stacey Chambers. Daughter in law, Lindsey Smith; grandchildren, Daniel, Miguel, Juan (Gabby), Gavin, Baileighana, Bryson, and Briley; and aunt and uncle, Herb and Loretta Roach as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Wright and Donald and JoAnn (Armstrong) Roach; brother, Scott Roach; grandson, Kaleb Poehlein; nephew Jeffery Graham; ex-husband, Brian Ramsay; and several aunts and uncles.


In celebration of Tammy’s meaningful life, a Memorial Service will be held at the Abundant New Life Church, Westport, IL on May 1, 2024, at 12:00 pm (Eastern Time). This service will honor her legacy, bringing together those whose lives she touched, to share stories, laughter, and tears in commemoration of a life well-lived.


As we bid farewell to Tammy R. Smith, let us remember her radiant spirit, her unwavering love, and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. In her memory, may we find solace and strength, knowing that her legacy will live on through those she loved and who loved her deeply.
