Thomas Robinson

Thomas R. Robinson, 81, of Owensville left this world to go to another December 3, 2018 at Gibson General from complications of Parkinson's. He was born in Gibson County on July 30, 1937 to the late Charles Emery Robinson and Iva Josephine (Crabtree) Robinson. Thomas was a graduate of Owensville High School, class of 1955. Thomas proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal from 1957 to 1960. He worked as a brakeman for Southern Railroad for 20 years, then REMC, and the town of Owensville. Thomas loved gardening and hanging out at Stop N Go with his friends rain or shine. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles E. and Iva Josephine Robinson; siblings James E. Robinson, Charles G. Robinson, Jackie Woods, and Kenny Robinson; brother in law Dave Woods; and niece Jessica Robinson. Thomas is survived by his siblings Sharon (Danny) Koenig, Dorothy (Karl) Weber, Stephen Robinson, and Janet (Trish) Robbins; sister in laws Shannon Harvey and Rosemary Robinson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and numerous friends. The family would like to thank everyone that looked out for Thomas when he rode his bicycle around town and provided him transportation when he was unable to ride. The family would also like to extend a thank you to the kind nursing staff at Gibson General 4th floor for the compassionate care given to Thomas. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Robinson. Visitation will be held Friday December 7, 2018 at Holders Funeral Home from 10a-12p. Funeral will be Friday at 12p with Pastor Kevin Miley officiating with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors by the retired vets.
