Thomas Charles Summerville was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Greene County, IN, to Doris (Messel) Lisby and Leo Summerville. He left this life May 17, 2013 at the Gentle Care Nursing Home, where he received loving care. Growing up with his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Allie Summerville, he helped on his uncle's farms in Greene County. Later, he worked for other farmers, mostly in Greene County. He liked to build model cars and planes, and had a collection of model metal tractors. He took many pictures and was always available to help his friends. He is survived by his sister, Reta Schaefer, of Vincennes; a half brother, Sheldon (Joan) Summerville, and a half sister, Ethelene Leithoff, both of Florida; a niece, Cindy Allen of Evansville, IN; a nephew, Stephen Schaefer of Albuquerque, NM, and a nephew, Calvin Messel of Greene County; and several cousins and great-nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his mother and father; step-father, Clarence Lisby; brother, John Messel; paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Messel; and a half sister, Camille. The funeral will be at 10:00 Monday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, with burial in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery, on his Grandma and Grandpa Messel's plot. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00
