Vance Fairhurst

Vance Fairhurst, 61, of Vincennes, passed away at 11:30 a.m. January 1, 2013 at his residence.He was born in Vincennes on May 20, 1951 to Dallas and Maud "Pat" (Corbin) Fairhurst.Vance was a superintendant at Rescom Management. An avid hunter, he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He had also worked as a K9 officer for the Knox County Sheriff's office.Surviving is his wife, Diane (Duggar) Fairhurst, two daughters, Lori (Russell) Keene of Marco, Ancella (Shane) Selby of Vincennes; two step-children, Shannon (Jeremy) Steward of Mobile, AL, Brian Smith of Mobile, AL; a sister, Pat Wenz of Bicknell, a brother, Loy Johnson of Gainsville, GA; three grandchildren, Reid Selby, Rusty Keene, and Bill Keene; and four step-grandchildren, Alyssa Steward, Jacob Steward, Brian Smith Jr. and Emma Lee Smith.Vance was prceded in death by his parents and an infant son.Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. John Moreland and Ronny Crawford officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service Saturday.
