Velda Brizius

Velda V. Brizius, 96, of Vincennes, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away Feb. 1, 2015, at the New Willow Manor. Velda was retired from Welborn Baptist Hospital, where she had worked as a pharmacy tech. During WWII, she served as a WAVE in the US Navy. Velda enjoyed dancing, and had met her husband at the Arthur Murray School of Dance. She was a member of the Evansville Firefighters Auxillary. Velda dedicated her life to her family, and her grandchildren were joys in her life. Preceding her was her husband, Morris Brizius, and her mother Gertrude Horral. Surviving is her daughter, Kari Collins, and her husband, Ritch, of Vincennes; grandchildren, Christopher Collins, and his wife, Jamie, and Matthew Collins, and his wife, Ann; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Matti, and Cooper Collins. Services will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 EDT, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Interment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville, IN.
