Verna Fox

Verna Pauline Fox, 89, formerly of Washington, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in West Lafayette, Indiana.She was born December 7, 1928 in Bone Gap, Illinois to Alan Lincoln and Catherine (Milam) Rice.Verna worked as a Registered Nurse at Daviess Community Hospital for over 30 years. A graduate of Plainville High School, she was a member of the Washington Free Methodist Church where she partook in the cutting of bandages. Some of her favorite activities included quilting, knitting, and crocheting.Surviving are her children, Toni (Joe) Auberry of West Lafayette, Dan (Charlotte) Fox of Joelton, TN, Edward (Sharon) Fox of Petersburg, and Andrew (Mona) Fox of Conyers, GA; along with seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Fox, whom she married on November 23, 1949; her infant son, Gerald Fox; and her brothers and sisters, Robert Rice, David Rice, Mary Ellen Atkins, Kathrine Hoss, Caroline Gaines, John Rice, and Harvey Rice.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home in Washington with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
