Vernon Hanns, 85, of Vincennes, passed away Jan. 13, 2014, at his home. He had worked as the controller for Hamilton Glass, and retired from Bellinger Glass in Memphis, TN. An Army veteran, he served in the Medical Corps, and was stationed in Japan. Vernon was a Boy Scout Scoutmaster, and a member of the First Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Moose Lodge, Eagles, American Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed geneology, fishing, and loved to dance. Born Jan. 15, 1928, in Oxford, IN, he was the son of George and Charlotte (Riley) Hanns. Preceding were his parents, and his sons Randall, Anthony, Mark, and Steven Hanns. Surviving is a special friend, Debbie Calvert, who was at his bedside when he passed away; a daughter, Camilla Bilskie of Bruceville, IN; and a son, Gary Hanns of Indianapolis, IN.
