Violet Snyder

Vi Mae Snyder, 79, passed away at 12:45 am on October 5, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Vi was born May 1, 1937 in Decker Chapel the daughter of John and Thelma (Decker) Anthis. She married Roy Dale Snyder on September 10, 1977 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1998.Vi worked for Brown Shoe Factory for sixteen years then became a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, and taking care of her cows and chickens.Vi is survived by her son, Gary Potter and his wife Sandra of Vincennes; daughter, Tonya Ruben and her husband Dennis of Elkhart, IN; sister, Peggy (Anthis) Dale of Leesburg, FL; daughter-in-law, Robin McCallister of Spencer, IN; grandchildren, Josh Ruben and his wife Katy, Derek Potter, Callie Ruben, Haley Potter, Korie Boyes and her husband Scott, Troy Snyder and wife Jenny, Amanda Cantwell and her husband Drew, Kelly Carter and her husband Jeremy; and eight great grandchildren, Miranda Snyder, Kail Boyes, Chandler Carter, Emma Carter, Conner Snyder, Gaven Cantwell, Gabriella Cantwell, Greyson Cantwell; and one great grandchild (Paxton) on the way. Vi was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma Anthis, brother, Arthur Anthis and brother-in-law, Hubert Dale.Funeral services for Vi will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with the Rev. Trevor Murry officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Friends may visit with Vi's family from 4-8 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home.
