Virginia M. Hancock, 90, of Vincennes, passed away at the home of her son, Alan, on Jan. 21, 2014. Virginia was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church. There she had been a member of the choir, attended Sunday evening Bible study, and participated in the prayer chain. She had substituted at Vigo school cafeteria, and had volunteered as a Pink Lady at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born March 18, 1923, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Ralph and Lida (Cotton) Howard. Her parents, a brother, Ralph, and a great-grandchild, Drew Riggle-Combs, preceded her. Also preceding her was her husband, Clyde Hancock, who was an accountant with Marathon, and had served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Surviving is her daughter, Judith (Richard) Riggle of Speedway, IN; her son, Alan (Elaine) Hancock of Vincennes; a brother, Rev. Walter Howard of Franklin, IN; grandchildren Richard Bern Riggle, Allison Marie Riggle-Combs, Aubry Hancock, Rachel Hancock, Stephen Hancock, and Karena Hancock; great-grandchildren, Christyn Marie Riggle, Weston Gray Riggle, AuBrynn Lola Riggle, Genevieve Renee Riggle-Combs, and Adelaide Marie Riggle-Combs. A funeral service , conducted by Pastor Duke Hampsch, will be held on Saturday, at 3:00, at the First Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 - 3:00 Saturday, at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to GSH Hospice.
