Virginia Small

Virginia Ruth Small, 87, of Vincennes, passed away March 23, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital.Ruth had worked as a secretary at Vincennes University and for Dr. Boyd. She was a member of the First Church of God, and had been a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital.Born June 25, 1927, in Washington, IN, she was the daughter of Barbee and Opha (Browning) Smith. Her parents; her husband, Joseph Malcolm Small; and her brothers, Ned, Russell, Dwight, and Kyle Smith preceded her.Surviving are her children, Joe Small and his wife, Darlene, of Vincennes, Kevin Small and his wife, Marla, of Vincennes, and Marsha Erban and her husband, Bob, of Port St. Lucie, FL; brothers, Kenneth Smith of Washington, IN and John Smith of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Brian Small, Brent Small, Brandon Small, Breanne Clark, Brennen Small, and Bryce Small; and nine great-grandchildren.Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 4:00 - 7:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9:00 - 10:00, at the First Church of God, 1408 E. St. Clair. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 at the church. Interment will follow in the Wheatland Cemetery, in Wheatland, IN.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of God.
